Take Back the Pink!

It's Breast Cancer "Prevention" Month! Take Back the Pink and say no to Pinkwashing!

By now you've probably heard that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This campaign is to educate women to get screened for cancer cells that might already be present in their body. Although this is a great stride towards early cancer detection and treatment, there remains much to be accomplished. Today we remain dedicated to educating and empowering women to take charge of their own breast health. Go beyond just being "aware" of breast cancer and take steps to actually PREVENT breast cancer in the first place!

Have you ever thought about the fact that many of the personal care products that have the iconic pink ribbon on their label to promote Breast Cancer Awareness, have cancer causing ingredients in their product! Or a recent soup company proudly showing their support of breast cancer awareness, while the soup cans are lined with the chemical BPA which has been linked to breast cancer?

Sadly, some women are getting breast cancer under the age of 35, far before their first "recommended" mammogram. And every time that we go in for a routine mammogram, we subject ourselves to radiation, increasing our breast cancer risk by 5%. There has to be a better solution! Rather than only relying on the hope that cancer is detected early or that we are strong enough to battle it, it is time that we take some serious steps to prevent it in the first place! We have started a campaign to "Take Back the Pink!" to make October about promoting steps for Prevention!

One of the Preventative steps that you can easily take is to lower your cancer risk is to get rid of household chemicals and take daily supplements to help boost your body's immune system and get the essential nutrition it needs.

We LOVE Shaklee's Get Clean non-toxic and chemical free cleaning line! It matches or outperforms 20 National Brands and saves thousands of dollars while improving your health!
Simple Steps for Cancer Prevention

Eat Healthy- Recommendations by the American Cancer Society is a minimum of five servings of fruits and vegetables a day (or 2-1/2 cups) to lower the risk of developing cancer.
Smart Supplementation- It is important to raise Vitamin D-3 levels. If you are among those women not getting five or more servings of antioxidant rich fruits and veggies consider supplementing with good quality antioxidants such as natural Vitamin C, E, and Beta Carotene (or better yet a Carotonoids blend) to help protect cells.
Exercise Regularly- Health experts recommend two and a half hours of exercise each week to keep your immune system strong.
Reduce Carcinogen Exposure-Don't smoke or be around second hand smoke, environmental pollutants or toxic cleaning products.

The Facts:
  • Studies have shown that women who use ordinary cleaning products can be two times more likely to develop breast cancer than those who use a more natural cleaning approach.
  • Women who work at home have a 54% higher death rate from cancer than those who work away from home. The 150year study concluded it was a direct result of the much higher exposure rate to toxic chemicals in common household products!
