Daddy's Little Helper

Hi there! I love using sketches when I scrapbook, in fact I almost always use them! I orginally picked a different sketch to use but as I was starting this page I changed my mind. This is the sketch that I used.

I have been wanting to scrap these pictures for a year now, I love them!! Daniel is always outside with his daddy and wants a screwdriver in his hand! I could not pick just one picture for this sketch so I used two! The black lettering is a little hard to see on the top of the picture but I didn't want to take it all off.
I was able to use lots of my stash for this lo. I bought this paper over a year ago at a Scrapbook store that no longer exists. Also I wanted to add stars but didn't have any but then remembered that I have a Slice!!! lol Sure enough one of my cards had a star! I really need to use it more often!!

It's not to late to play along, submit your lo's!

Shaklee anyone?

I recently blogged about Shaklee and cleaning my oven with a product called Scour Off. After using the GET CLEAN home products and loving them I decided to start selling Shaklee. These products are all green, nontoxic, and most importantly SAFE! I have taken ALL my chemical cleaners out of my home and replaced them with 3 spray bottles, Scour off paste and 2 containers of wipes! That's all!! I loved that while I am cleaning Daniel can help me, which he loves to do, and it's safe for him! I just purchased the dish soap, laundry soap and vitamins to try! If you are interested in a sample of Basic H from the Get Clean line please let me know. I do not have a website just yet but you may go online to see the products that they offer.
http://www.shaklee.com/
Also for the month of November Shaklee is offering a free membership if you purchase $70 in products, that is a savings of $20! A great deal and it is a lifetime membership!
Last Sunday I hosted a Shaklee party at my home for my friends to hear about Shaklee and they all loved the products! I am excited for them to get their products and hear how they like them!!
Thank you! Please let me know if you have questions!!!
Enjoy your weekend!

Taco Soup

I got this from work actually, a long time ago someone left copies out and I took one, it's our favorite! I have shared it with many people and they all have loved it.

1 lb. lean ground beef or turkey browned- I use turkey
1 onion (optional) - I just spinkle in some dried onion
1 pkg. taco seasoning -dry
1 pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch dressing - dry
1 can pinto beans
1 can light kidney beans
1 can corn
1 can hominy
2 cans tomotoes -diced
1 can rotel

Directions- dump all ingredients into crock pot. cook all day on low and enjoy. serve with chips and cheese. We make corn bread because it reminds me more of chili. It makes a lot, I have two crock pots and I use my bigger one for this. It lasts us a few days or you could even freeze some of it. Enjoy!!

Having fun cleaning!!!

No really!! I am having fun trying my new Shaklee products out!! I first heard about Shaklee at this blog that I like to visit! Soon after I started reading her blog a cousin of Joe's, Rachel, posted on Facebook that she was selling Shaklee. I asked her for a sample of Basic H and loved it! It's all organic and smells good! My favorite product is the Scour off!!! It's made of cherry pits and it's amazing!! I have used it on my shower, oven and sink! I hated cleaning my shower and with this product it's so easy and my shower is honestly cleaner than ever before. I took some pictures of my oven. I am embarassed to show you the befores but here they are.

And now after!! My oven is old so there was stuff in between the glass I could not get to.

Much better huh??

Oct. and Pagerize Challenge

I wanted to do both of these challenges this month but have been so busy that I decided to combine them into one.

I decided to scrap these pictures of my son and my grandma who passed away in Dec.2008. She passed away just a few days before Christmas unexpectedly. She was only able to see my son twice. She was my last living grandparent to pass away. After she passed away I knew I wanted to scrap the only two pictures I had of her and my son. I printed extra copies but just couldn't get myself to scrap them, until now! Thank you Kathy for this challenge! I can look at these now and not get so sad about her being gone but be happy that she was able to hold him!!

I loved Joni's lo and lifted most of it. I haven't painted on a lo in a long time so I tried that but I felt like I made a mess. I covered most of it with my paper and pictures though! Thanks for the inspiration Joni!!

Please stop by Scrap Our Stash to play along in our challenges!!!

More baby Matthew pages

I never finished posting the baby book pages I made for my friend Holly's baby Matthew. Here are just some of them. She lives in Kansas so I had to ship it to her. When she sent me here thank you note she included these cute towel lollipops. I took a picture to remember them, they would be a cute shower favor!

I am having trouble figuring out blogger! I will post more soon!

BOO!!

Last night I made another set of blocks! I wanted to make one for Fall but since I never got around to it I made some for Halloween! I think they turned out pretty cute!
Here is the link to the Christmas ones I made back in July! There are more detailed directions there if your interested! They are so simple to make and I get to use my stash!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend! I will be back soon with a lo!

Hey there!

It's been a little while since I have posted. School hast started and I am working part time again this year! I love being able to be home with my little guy but then to get out of the house too!!
Right before going back to work my mom and I worked on a scrapbook for my brother. My mom made both me and my other brother books with pictures from our childhood for our wedding gifts. So I helped her with my youngest brothers book. He was married last November so it's a little late, he got engaged and married too fast for my mom! :) The pages are pretty simple compared to how I normally scrap. I had to share this one though because my brother Jimmy looks so much like my son Daniel!!!

I also wanted to share this because this month at SOS our challenge was to use border punches. I will be sharing other pages later too!! I love using my punches, they add to the page. Happy Monday!

Welcome Baby Matthew!

For our September challenge I decided to share some baby pages I made for a recent baby book. I enjoy making these baby books for friends as gifts. They take a lot of work and I thought about not making them but I just can't seem too! It is also a great way for me to use my stash!!! I usually make an 8x8 album with some pages for when the baby first arrives and then one page per month after that. I also try to include some first holidays! So I am sharing a few of the pages that included punches. I will post some other pages from the album on my blog if your interested.

I left this one for mom to fill in with some type of Christmas photo.
Hope you enjoyed these!! It's not to late to play along!

August Flower challenge

This month we were asked to create a lo with a flower, handmade or other. I decided to try a handmade one. Here is what I came up with.

My flower is very simple. I cut out 4 circles all just a little bit smaller than each other and then crumbled them up a little. I then attached them to the page with a brad. This was my first attempt at any type of flower so I chose something fairly easy. I really like how the whole lo turned out!

It's not to late to submit a lo!

Have a great week!

SOS Frugal Tip

Every Friday at Scrap Our Stash we share a frugal tip, this week I shared one.
My frugal tip is a simple one that some of you may already do. I save almost all of my paper scraps, I hate to throw paper away. I use my scraps to make simple cards. I don't like to spend too much time on my cards, I like them simple. Making cards is also a good way to use up all these flowers you have or any other embellishment you haven't used in a while.
I keep my cardstock scraps by color and then have a folder for all my patterned paper scraps. I made all these cards one night when I couldn't sleep but didn't feel like I wanted to do a whole lo. What do you do with your scraps?

July Challenge

It's not too late to submit your lo to Scrap Our Stash. This month we are using brads and or eyelets. I like to dig into my stash on these challenges, that's the whole point right? So I went with eyelets since I never really use them. Here is the page I created for the challenge.

These pictures are older ones of Daniel. They were taken the first time we put him in his saucer. He loved it!

Happy Thursday!

Christmas in July Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog! If you didn't come here from Ren-Yi's blog go back to Scrap Our Stash and follow the blog hop in order. This will allow you to discover the secret phrase which will make you eligible for the grand prize.

I have been reading more home type blogs recently and saw some cute wood letters that I have wanted to make. So I thought this was the perfect project to try and share with you. If your interested in more ideas, here is a link to the blog I first saw these on. They are very easy to make and a super cheap gift idea too!
My husband recently bought some 2x4's and 2x6's just because they were discounted so I was able to use some. I had him cut the 2x4's into two different sizes for me. I then painted them with one coat of regular white paint.

Next I picked out the scrapbook paper I wanted to use. I didn't want to use all different papers on each block so I decided to go with two. I measured them a little bit bigger than the block and then ripped the edges and even inked them to give it a more distressed look. I used Mod Podge to attach the paper. Here are the blocks ready for letters.

I used my Making Memories Slice to cut out the letters. I had a hard time deciding what to do but came up with "Jolly." I figure I can also leave off the l's and just use the word "Joy" if I want. So I just used my regular scrapbooking glue to attach the letters and then went over it with Mod Podge again. After they dried overnight I attached just a few embellishments. Again here I just used the glue that I would use on my scrapbooking pages.

A few close ups of the letters with embellishments

I really like how they turned out and I want to make more for other seasons! Not sure if I like them all together or separated.

What do you think?

Please leave a comment and become a follower of my blog for a chance to win a Nikki Sivils 6x6 Flaming Butterfly pad and some embellishments!

The BLOG HOP ENDS on SUNDAY 7/25 at 6PM. I will choose a random winner on Monday 7/26 so please come back here to see if you won. Remember you must be a follower and leave me a comment to be eligible to win.

My secret word is : gifts

SOS Sketch #2

I am sharing my lo for our mid month (June-July) sketch at SOS

I really enjoyed using this sketch! I love creating pages with more than just one photo so this was perfect for me. I decided to use 3 pictures since they were hard to crop. In place of the fourth picture I put some journaling. I always have to have journaling, to me it's really important to document what the pictures are about. These pictures are of my son and neice in their Halloween pj's that my sister-in-law bought them both! Loved the pictures of the two of them!

June Challenge

I have been busy I guess because of the lack in blog posts! The end of the year at school seems crazier than the Christmas holidays to me. We celebrated Daniel's 2nd birthday, a camping trip, report cards, a carnival, Father's day, and I'm sure I'm missing a few things! I am glad it's over and that it's finally summer! I am looking forward to keeping busy this summer. Daniel is a good age this year to do some fun things. We headed to our cities water park today and he had a blast! We are going to go at least once a week.

I have a few pages to share for my Dt at SOS.
This month we are stitching on our los. I decided to use a rub on and also noticed after that my frame has stitching too!

I also never posted this one from our Mid-May sketch. Our first one for the blog.

There is a new sketch up for this month, come check it out!

Thanks for stopping by!

Coffee Filter Wreath

So I have been seeing wreaths made different ways on different blogs that I read. One that I liked was with coffee filters. I decided to make one for myself. I bought the coffee filters at Target, pins at WalMart and the wreath my friend gave me! The ribbon was left over off a pair of pj's I bought. :)

I used about 100 filters.

For now I have it on the inside of my front door! I love it!

Dining Room makeover

I am happy to say that we are finally done with our dining room makeover!! It looks so much better! I only wish we had done it sooner! I love looking at it! here are a few pictures.

We also spray painted the mirror and the frames on both sides of the mirror. Love them all black.

I didn't get a great picture of it before I put my table back but I will try to take one. Overall it's such a huge difference and so much brighter!!!
