Happy New Year!

Ok I just deleted my post so I will try this again!

Happy 2009! Wow what a year it has been, so glad to start off fresh! 2008 had some bad and some good. My family lost four loved ones in 08. It was really hard to lose so many so close together, I hope this year will be better. BUT also the good, we had a beautiful baby boy! I know the 2009 will be filled with many firsts and we can't wait to experience them with our little guy!

For the first time since Joe and I have been together we went out for New Year's. We went to his brother's house for an appetizer party. It was small but a great time. My parents also joined us and we played some games and of course ate way too much! Daniel came along too and did great. He of course did not make it till midnight but fell right asleep in the guest bedroom.

On the 29th he turned 7 months! I know I say this every month but gosh time is flying! Seems like yesterday we brought him home! We love him to pieces! He is starting the year off with his first tooth~ We noticed it yesterday right below the gum line. SO it explains why he has been so fussy! Hopefully it pops out soon! Here are a few pictures on his 7 month birthday! We hung out that day with his little friend Aidan who also turned 7 month the same day! Of course I forgot my camera again!!

And a few pictures from Christmas day!

Happy New Year to you all! Thanks for reading my blog this last year, I know it's not the best but I appreciate all who visit! Thanks! Have a blessed New year!

scrappin time!

For Christmas I asked for a Making Memories Slice and my parents surprisingly got it! So last night I finally got a chance to sit down and play with it! I really like how small it is and yet it does so much! I scrapped 4 pages last night afterwards and have done 2 today! I am going back to work next week and know I won't have time for a while. I kept them all simple because I am months behind. Here is one I did today. I realized after I finished it that I forgot to leave room to journal. Oops!

A tough day!

Wow this week I have been on an emotional roller coaster. It started on Monday. We took Daniel to his new babysitter's. He did great but I was a mess. I made it through. Joe came with us. Then Tuesday came and I had to take him alone and I think it was even tougher. Thursday he already had to miss. Friday I was doing great but on the way there I got a call from my mom, I knew something was wrong she never calls me at 8am from work. My grandma had been helicopter to a hospital in Los ANgeles. She had a brain aneurysm. The colt was the size of my fist and she was is a coma. My dad was with her all day Friday but it did not look good. This morning I got the call that I knew was coming we had to go say our good byes. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. But to see her there like that made me know that she would be in a better place. We had a priest come and say her last rights and then we had to take her off life support. It was extremely hard!! Our family has lost so many loved ones this year. I don't think I can handle anymore! At this moment though I'm not crying anymore I feel at peace knowing that she is ok now. But please keep my family in your prayers this is going to be an extremely hard Christmas! But also Daniel's first so we will make the best of it!!
Here are a few photos to share of my grandma from last February when she turned 80! Love you Nagymama!

My grandma at Disneyland! She loved going there and even at 80 loved to get on as many rides as she could! I have great memories going there as a kid with her and running on rides before the park would close for the night!

Santa and our tree

We are ready for Christmas! Well almost, I still have shopping to do but our house is all decorated. Yesterday we thought would be the perfect day to go to the mall to see Santa. We have a few busy weekends coming up and figured it was the best time. We got there before Santa arrived. We were 6th in line and waited about a half hour or so. The two babies in front of us both cried and the parents didn't even bother getting a photo. Daniel on the other hand was chatting away in line and loved Santa! At first he just stared up at him and pulled on his beard but when I called his name he looked at me and was laughing away for the camera! He is a little ham!
Here we are in line passing the time.

And here is a scanned copy of the photo we bought.

Next we headed back home to get the truck to go tree shopping! Last year we found a tree called a Grand Fir. it was really pretty and we wanted the same this year. We went to Lowe's and they only had 4! They were dry and muddy! We left and went to Home Depot and they didn't have any. I suggested that we just get a Noble Fir but Joe doesn't like those he says! So we headed to a tree lot. Now I knew before getting out of the truck that it would be like a car lot, someone basically following you around trying to sell you a tree. Sure enough it was! The first young man to help us must have been about 20 or so. He led us to the Grand Firs. We decided that they were way too pricey and we would just go back to Home Depot and get a Noble. But as we tried to walk out an older man asked us why we were leaving and led us back to the area we were in. He basically talked us into a tree! We are suckers! The tree was marked as $70 and we got it for $50 and didn't get charged tax. A little more than we normally pay but it's a nice tree. We got it up last night. Last years tree was much bigger at only $35.00 but we got the tree that Joe wanted so that's what matters! :) Here it is all pretty!

And real quick last night Daniel sat up all by himself!! We were so proud of him! He has been practicing for weeks but was falling over but last night he was sitting up for long periods of time playing and laughing away!

2 new los!

While browsing through blogs I came across a sketch by Emilie Ahern. I tend to print only 4x6's so when I saw the sketch I knew I could use it. So I did! I did two lo's on the same day and both took about 20 minutes each! I love that! My pile of pictures is growing by the minute so I love when I can do a page or two quickly! Here they are, nothing to fancy, just sweet and simple!

I am finishing up a fall book I started. Just need to print some Thanksgiving pictures to add to it. Hopefully I can finish by the end of the week. Speaking of Thanksgiving we had a pretty good one. We started off at my parents house and ate there first. My parents always smoke their turkey, it's the best! I am not a fan of turkey but I loved it smoked! We had some yummy desserts. I fyou know my mom you know she loves to bake! She made something new that she found in her Taste of Home mag and it was yummy, pumokin and chocolate cake! I am also not a fan of pumpkin pies but this was awesome! So enough about food! Then we headed to the in-laws. We had a great dinner, even though we were stuffed from the first round of eating! But then after dinner while we were filling out our wish lists, dh's grandpa was having some chest pains. We ended up having to call 911. He is still in the hospital. He has been having issues with his heart but he is at the point where they can't do much for him. It's really sad! Please keep him in your prayers.
Our first Thanksgiving picture!

Disneyland!

Last week Joe had to work nights so he was home during the day with us. On Tuesday we decided to go to Disneyland before the holiday crazyiness starts there. Well it was so crowded already, I could not believe it! I guess more people were off than we thought. So we walked around the whole park with my dad, he was snapping the pictures for us. We got a few good ones, but Daniel likes to put his head down when we take pictures outside! Here are some we took!

Sunday already?

Gosh it seems like the weekends just fly by! Joe had to work yesterday and I am sad he has to go back to work tomorrow! But it's a short week. Things had been crazy busy around here. It seems like we have something to do everyday! My time off is almost over and I'm so sad about that! :(
I have been working on a Fall 6x6 mini album but decided to scrap a page last night. These photos are in the album but I really like the one of Daniel and I so I had to scrap it on it's own. This page was done using a sketch from the Oct. 08 pagemaps. I originally started with a totally different picture and paper that I wanted to scrpa/use but couldn't make it work so went to this one instead.

Have a great week! I can't believe it's Thanksgiving this week! If I am not back before then, have a Happy Turkey Day!

a little late

I hope you all had a great Halloween. We did. In the morning we went to my school's Halloween parade. It was great to see everyone. Then in the evening we went to my parents first to trick or treat at their door. Here we are when my dad opened the door.
And one of Daniel sitting next to my parents pumpkin.
Afterwards we headed to my bil and sil's house to hang out there for the night. We took them dinner and passed out candy. We were surprised at how few kids came. It was also the first time Daniel met his little cousin Hanna. We met her at the hospital but of course he could not come in. Last night I created this lo of the two of them.

We also carved pumpkins at home the night before halloween.

a new lo and a new niece!

Here is my latest lo, I am really happy with it. It felt good doing a page with pink in it!

Speaking of pink we have a new niece, Hanna Victoria! She was born on Friday. And of course we were out of town! We had left Thursday and that night my sil's water broke! Since we were 5 hours away they told us to just stay. We got to meet her on SUnday and she is a little bundle of joy! So tiny compared to our Daniel when he was born. SHe was 7lbs 1 oz and 19.5 inches. Pictures to come, i haven't had a chance to upload from this weekend.

The Pumpkin Patch

So we made it to the Pumpkin Patch today! I found this patch on my friend's blog so we decided to try it out. It was a real pumpkin patch compared to the ones around our house. Daniel didn't "behave" very well though, lol. I think it was too sunny or something. In almost every picture he was looking down. I found a little hat in the diaper bag but it didn't help much! Here are a few pictures from today! And my dad was nice enough to let us take his new Canon Rebel, which dh has been playing with all weekend! I think he used it more than I did. It is on my Christmas wish list for sure!

ANd can you believe I scrapped last night? I did a fun page that I will have to post later!
Have a great Monday!!

a new page

I created two pages this week and put tons of pictures away!! I actually filled up a photo album of all Daniel's first two months. I went and got another album yesterday to put more away. This lo I'm sharing is for a sketch contest using some pictures I took with my dad's camera.

And my other lo, well I didn't even take a picture of it, it's horrible! I could take it apart but I have a pile of pictures to scrap so it's staying the way it is.

Daniel has been loving his cereal and bananas. Today I let him try some sweet potatoes. He wasn't too sure at first but continued to eat it so it must not be too bad!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! We are hoping to make it to the Pumpkin Patch tomorrow.

Last week I finally got a chance to scrapbook for me! Here are some I did. I have not been too thrilled with my work lately, I guess I need to do it more often to get back into it.

Happy Monday!

4 months

My baby is 4 months old today! I can't even believe it. He is getting too big too fast.

He had his 4 month visit today and had some more shots. He was super fussy all day, this was the best picture we could get.
SOme things he is doing these days are:
*rolling over
*holds his own bottle with two hands
*loves to put his hands or anything he can grab into
his mouth - as you can tell by the photo
*sleeps 8 hours most nights
*still doesn't really like tummy time
Tomorrow we are going to introduce him to cereal. We went shopping today and got ready!

He has been starring us down when we eat so I think he is going to like it. Saturday my brother thought it would be funny to give him a cookie, well he just put it by his mouth but he right away put his lips down. He just got a few crumbs.

Baby Book

For the last two weeks I have been up late scrapping. I made a baby book for my dear friend who is expecting her first baby boy! Her and her husband had tried for a few years and were finally blessed with a healthy pregnancy! We are so happy for them. I made an 8.5x8.5 album for her with 28 pages! I went to her shower over the weekend and she loved it! I remembered late the night before to take pictures so I had to do them inside and they are horrible. Anyway here are a few of my favorites, I won't bore you with all of them!

And one simple one of my little guy!

And lastly, one year ago my brother got married in Maui! We were all there with him, it was a great trip and I wish I was there now. It is such a beautiful place, I can't wait to go back someday! Happy Anniversary Eric and Nicole!

Sorry for the long post! Enjoy your week!
