Time to paint!!!

So I have been wanting to redo our fireplace wall since we moved in almost 5 years ago. When we moved in we painted the rest of the room but not the fireplace wall. I really didn't know what to do with it and I didn't think we could afford to completely remodel it. But then while reading the Lettered Cottage blog about a month ago I came across her Mantel Mania posts and I found a great idea. This wall was very similiar before to our house.
I have been ready ever since to redo our fireplace wall!!!

Tonight Joe was talking about an upcoming side job he has and I "reminded" him that I wanted him to do our dining room before he started that job. So he said he would start tomorrow!!
Here is the before picture

(I have way too much stuff up there)

And about an hour later I had almost everything but the mirror gone and ready for him!! Can you tell I'm excited?!?!?

The door to the garage is also going to be repainted

We are eventually going to paint the ceiling too but don't think we will have enough time before Daniel's party. I am going to try and spray paint this horrid ceiling fan!! I hope I can save it!!

I am so excited to see the transformation!!! Everyone tells us that this room has a cabin feel to it. Well I am ready to get rid of the cabin look!!! And it should cost us nothing because we have all the paint leftover from other projects and from when we painted the house. The only thing I bought so far is a can of spray paint!! Check back to see the after pictures!!!

April Scrap Our Stash Challenge

Hope you had a wonderful Easter!

Just posting real quick to share my April lo for the Scrap Our Stash Challenge. The challenge was to scraplift or use a sketch. This was easy for me because I love using sketches! I use a lot of the ones from the Page Maps monthly newsletter. I have them printed out in a notebook.

This is a sketch from the April 09 newsletter.

Besides using a sketch as you can probably tell I used a lot of my old stash! This paper is all so old. I was holding onto it for just the right page I guess! I love it though!

Thanks for stopping by! Come join us!

Happy 1st Day of Spring!!

It was a beautiful 1st day of Spring in CA. It was about 80 out and just perfect. I was bummed that dh had a to work today because we could have done something fun outdoors. Maybe tomorrow! We did go out back and plant some flowers and play in the hose. I didn't get the camera but I need to because Daniel is a crack up with the hose. He laughs so hard it's funny!!
So just some random photos today. This first one is a new little sign I found at Marshalls this week. I found it in the kids toy area, random, but I loved it!! Kinda makes me think of spring with the little birdie on it! I have been so inspired by all the home blogs that I have found and been reading lately! Makes me want to redecorate!

I have to share one of Daniel since I haven't in a while. Today we were busy cleaning in the morning and when the vacuum comes out he has to take over. it's hard for me to get it back once it's in his hands!!

We got a lot done in the house today. I have been working on reorganizing my scrapbooking stuff this week and today I was able to get rid of this table!!! It's back in the garage where it belongs!!!
Here is the before picture:

And AFTER:

Aww so much better!! More to come later!!

ANd lastly a sneak peek at my April Scrap Our Stash challenge. I made it on the same day I made my March challenge lo. I really love how this one turned out, can't wait to share it!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!!

March Challenge lo!

Our challenge this month at Scrap our Stash was to use old and new on your lo. I used a lot of old on this lo since I have tried to stop buying stuff until I use up some old products. So the only new things here are the buttons and I used my new Martha Stewart punch.

Come play along with us this month!

I have a few other pages to share. On Friday I went to my good friend Michelle's to scrapbook. We had so much fun adn I completed three los!!! I love scrapbooking with her. She is so talented and helps me out!! Thanks Michelle!!

Michelle took the pictures in both these bottom two lo's. They were taken at Disney's Trick-or-treat Party this last fall.

Have a great St.Patrick's week!!!

Spring cleaning?

Well it's spring cleaning and time to get organized!! Look at my mess!!! It's crazy!! At Scrap Our Stash this month we are challenging you to clean up your scrap stuff! I definately needed to do this. So here is my before and hopefully very soon I will have a clean space, or spaces I should say, to show you!

I am a little embarrassed to show off my mess! It's really bad at the moment! But this challenge is what I needed!! For starters I don't really have my supplies in one area. In fact I even have a few things hiding in a closet that I forgot to take a picture of. When my son was born my office/scrap room also turned into a guest room. I had to move my scrapping table out and into the dining room. So needless to say I am limited on space.
So in my office/ everything room I have my jars of ribbon, well some ribbon. I also have the white shleves with buttons and other misc. small items. Then I have the three drawer rubbermaid with ribbons, which my son constantly pulls out, chipboard letters, paint and stamps.

In my dining room I have the table which started off being there just to scrap on but as you can see it is where I just stack stuff up. I now scrap on the dining room table. I leave my tool bag, journaling tags and baby embellishments on the table. In the shelf I store my scrapbooks on the top shelf. The middle shelf has my clear containers with all my letter stickers. The bottom shelf has old books. I think this is where I should start, I could use this shelf for scrapbooking stuff.

I am thinking of ways to get all my stuff into one space, not sure if I can do that but I have all month!! I hope I can do it! Thanks Kathy for the start!

Come play along too!

A few pages to share!

I was able to do one page last night. I really want to finish up last Christmas (08) before I move onto 2009. SO I did one page. This was from Christmas Day.

I also never shared all my pages from my brother's album, so here is just one. I used a lot of scrap paper on this. I left the tag for them to journal.

Have a great week!
Also please leave a comment if you stop by, I am beginning to wonder if anyone is reading! :)

More pages to share!

So I have been scrapping a lot lately! I did those two pages last week one night, the Valentine one is a picture my ds' babysitter gave us in his Valentine card to us! I had to scrap it! It makes me smile when I get cards from him from daycare! I am not really liking how I scrapped it though.

And this 2 pager is from our recent snow trip, I feel like it still needs something!

That's all for now! Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Sonshine of my life

My lo has been posted so I can share what I created for the February challenge at Scrap Our Stash. This month's challenge was to use 10 things in your lo. It could be any items on your page. I used 5 stars and 5 buttons. I had so many pictures from this day that I decided to do a two pager. I really love how it turned out. I used a Making Memories baby boy pack that I found at Target on clearance for a couple of dollars for most of this lo but then also used some things in my stash!

Please come visit the Scrap Our Stash blog, http://scrapourstash.blogspot.com/, to play along!

A quick lo to share

I created this about a week ago. I always keep the picture Christmas cards that I get and this year I decided to scrap them. I used almost all of them, trimmed them and did a two page lo with them. I like that they are all in one place to look at. I was thinking I could make an album just for these to go in every year. Maybe??

And a sneak peek of my lo for my Guest Designer spot, they haven't all bee posted but it's coming soon. I LOVE how this page turned out! Can't wait to share it!

Also a quick picture to share of my brothers and their wives with us in the mountains. The local mountains have gotten a lot of snow this year and last weekend we had to take a drive to play in it! We had a blast sledding! Then we headed to Lake Arrowhead to the Village to walk around and have some lunch! It was a really fun day and nice to hang out with my brothers!

Good night! Hope to post again this week sometime!

Crazy week and it's only Wednesday!

It's been a crazy week and it's not over yet! Daniel has had a hard time this week every morning and evening too. Needless to say I'm glad my work week is over! My students were not on their best behavior and some other craziness happened at work. Glad I'm done! I have a long to do list for the next few days. My number one thing to do is finish my lo for my February Guest Designer spot at this site, http://scrapourstash.blogspot.com/ be sure to check it out in February! It's my first time doing anything like this so I am thrilled!

Happy New Year!!!

Wow can you believe it's 2010!!! I can't! It doesn't seem possible that another year has gone by. We had a low key New Year's Eve. We decided to go to the movies and leave Daniel with my parents. We went to BJ's for dinner and used a gift card. Then we headed to the movies and saw It's Complicated with some movie tickets my mom put in my stocking! :) So it was a cheap date night! We made it home by about 9 and I took down the tree ornaments while waiting for the ball to drop.

I have a few things to share. I made some ornaments for Christmas and attached them to our familys' gifts. They all loved them. Here is the first one I made for myself. I used some old CD's my dad was throwing away, I dug them out of his trash!

I really like how it stood out on the tree!

I recently submitted this lo for a use your Scrap our stash blog, http://scrapourstash.blogspot.com/ and it was choosen!! I will be a guest designer for February there. I love using scraps and things in my stash so it's perfect for me!! I was so surprised, this is my first time winning this sort of thing! lol

This lo was created for an album that I made my brother and his new wife as a wedding gift. I included pictures from when they were dating and made sure to include one from each Christmas since they have been together. I used a lot of my old stash on this page. The the red and white patterned paper and trees were made from pieces of Christmas paper I had left over from a page I made 2 Christmas' ago. The green paper and the brown trunks are also made from small scraps. The ribbon was something I saved off of a gift bag someone gave me. And the letter stickers are from a pack I got when I first started scrapping about 5 years ago! The brads and sticker are also from my stash! I really don't think it turned out too bad considering I used a lot of old stuff up!

Once again Happy New Year! I hope you all have a wonderful 2010!!!

Hello again!

I'm finally back! I can't believe I haven't posted anything since October.

Well I have been scrapbooking a lot but not for me lately. I can't share what I have been working on yet. BUT Friday night I did go to a crop night with my two sister-in-laws so I can share that. They are both fairly new to scrapping and when they asked me to scrapbook with them I was thrilled to go! They had a lot of fun scrapping at a store for the first time and are ready to go again! I love having more friends to scrap with. So I worked on three lo's and finished up Daniel's 1st birthday album. I didn't take any pictures of his album yet but here are the three pages I completely. They are all from our trip to Disneyland last year before Christmas. I have been wanting to scrap them for a year! haha

Since I am so fair behind on posting anything I will not go backwards. Today we went to pick out our tree. We couldn't decide if we should get a smaller tree since Daniel is into everything but we said what the heck let's get a big one!! So hopefully he doesn't pull it down. We did put it in the dining room, it's fairly large, and it's next to the living room so we can still see it from the couch. We thought since we have gates it might be better in there. So anyway here are a few pictures.

After I finished decorating I remembered that I have a smaller fake tree that I brought home from my classroom. I thought the living room looked a little empty without the tree so I put this up! It's actually pretty cute! I had brought it home to get rid of but I'm glad I kept it!

Ok I hope I can remember to post a little sooner than later! Enjoy your holiday season!

Finally posting something!

Well it's been a super long time since I posted, things are always busy around here! I did go back to work but only part tome and I love it! I fell like we are busier than before!
So real quick we went to Disney's California Adventure to go trick-or-treating on Thursday with my friend Michelle and her daughter. We had fun and got some candy too!

Tonight Daniel and I went to Michelle's for a Halloween party. I had to dress up too she said, this was a costume I used a few years back.

Tomorrow we are off to the Pumpkin Patch, I am really excited. I think Daniel is really going to enjoy it this year! Be back soon!
