The first day of school...

is tomorrow! Last week I met some of my new students at our Good Start. They are all very cute and so little! SOme are still 4 years old! Our numbers are a little low still so hopefully they will trickle in. SO my room is ready and I just need to pick out something to wear! I had gotten a new outfit but it's been so hot that I think what I got will be too hot to wear.
Last week was spent in my classroom, however on Monday I treated myself to my massage! It was at Burke Williams, it was heaven! The atmosphere inside is so relaxing and quiet! There were three lounges to chose from to relax and wait for your appointments in! I got there early enough to enjoy the hot tub in the womens spa area! That was great!! I tried a misting room but that was not my favorite! I got a birthday bath, which was a milk bath with some kind of orange herb added in. Very relaxing! Then afterwards I had my massage, it was great! I stayed after and enjoyed the hot tub and took a nice shower and took my time getting ready to leave. It was a lot of fun, but next time it would be fun to go with a friend or two!!
Today I didn't have to go into work, no meetings today. It was a day to work in your room but since mine was ready I stayed home! It was nice to sleep in and lounge around. I got lots of laundry done and Joe came home early so we went to the $1.50 theater and saw Knocked UP. We couldn't find anything else out that we wanted to see so we checked an old one. It was so funny, we laughed the whole time. Not bad for $3.00!
I haven't done much scrappin lately but I did do my September calendar page finally!! I still need to do the rest of the year, so bad I know!!! I used some super old Micheals pack paper for this page but I think it's fine. I used a picture of us in Hawaii since we are going in Sept.

Back to work!

I am so sad to report that I must go back to work tomorrow!!! :( Only the Kindergarten team must report back this week. We have a Kindergarten Good Start this Thursday and Friday, it's where the students come with their parents to kinda get used to school.
Tomorrow after I am done at school I am off to get my first massage!!! My brother and his gf gave me a gift certificate for my birthday. I am excited to see what it's like!
I have been scrapping a lot this past week, trying to get as much done before school starts! I am only posting one lo that I finished today using the new pencil lines sketch that was posted today! Saw it and loved it right away! I wasn't too sure about it but have gotten lots of comments to leave it as is.

The title I found in my "Ultimate guide to the Perfect Word" book, as soon as I saw it none of the others sounded good, so I went with it! We are not too cuddly in this picture but enough for me! :)

Is this thing on?

My blog is driving my crazy! I posted a quick entry yesterday and it doesn't seem to be on my blog!! I don't know where it is!! Maybe you can see it but I can't! Hope this works! Last night I worked on lots of scrappy things! I worked on a baby book for my cousin, a book for my brother and his fiance and I did a page for me!!! This page is for Michelle's ABC challenge. We are working on the letters G,H, and I. G-for glitter, I used glitter letters and hearts, H-hearts, I'm sure you can find those, and I-for ink, I inked around all the edges, I need to remember to use my inks more often! I love how this turned out, I think the pps are perfect for my pictures. I have been holding off using this pp for months, I wasn't sure how I should use it but I am happy with my results!

Time flies when your having fun!

I can't believe how long it has been since I last posted!! I have been enjoying my last few weeks of summer! I am so sad that there is only really one week left of freedom for me. The last few weeks I have done some shopping. I have gotten some work clothes, Hawaii clothes and shoes! This is the dress that I found at Nordstroms for my brother's wedding!

I had found another one that was $260 that I loved but was not willing to spend that much on a dress I will probably only wear once, so at $50 this was a bargain!

I also went to my favorite store H&M yesterday with my friend Holly. She lives in Kansas now so I had to introduce her to H&M. She went crazy! I only bought 2 skirts, a top and these super cute shoes!! But I was also there last week too! :) I love flats for work!

This last Monday we got to go to Universal Studios Hollywood! I have been wanting to take Joe there for years, he had never been! We had a lot of fun! The weather was perfect!! Here we are waiting for the Waterworld show to start, which is a great show! Oh we had also just been on Jurassic Park and gotten really wet, please excuse the messy hair! :)



Lastly today my mom and I met my brother for lunch at Cisco's Burgers in Long Beach(owned by Jesse James). It's next door to West Coast CHopppers, where my youngest brother works! And I did see Jesse James, my brother's boss! My brother was embarassed by my mom and I acting silly so we just got to smile at him. But I thought it was pretty cool to be in the same place eating lunch at the same time as Jesse James! My brother then took us a tour of both buildings and showed us all the cars and motorcycles they are working on there. It's pretty cool, I know Joe would have appreciated the cars more than me though!

Summer is going too fast!!

Gosh I can't believe how fast summer is going! It's almost August!

Monday for my b-day Joe wanted to go to the fair. A friend online told me that it's closed on Mondays. We were bummed so we decided to go to an Angels game!! Love to watch baseball, so we left early, so we thought! And they were pretty much sold out! They only had single seats left and that would not have been fun! this is as far as we got...

So we ended up at Sam's club instead! Joe and his brother had fun! They always act like big kids when they are togehter!


On Tuesday we made it to the fair! We had lots of yummy food!! My favorite was the funnel cake with fresh strawberries and whip cream!! Yummy!!

At one entrance they had this awesome sand castle display! It's pretty cool looking and there is so much detail to look at!

Last night I did a quick lo of Joe's birthday. Didn't get too many pictures that day.

Happy Birthday to me!

Yes today is the day that I turn the big 3-0!! Yikes that is scarey to say! I always thought people 30 were old when I was younger, but now I'm there!! We had a party yesterday with some friends and family! It turned out great!! I am sharing a few pictures!
Joe wanted to get balloons and when he came home he brought me a necklace!

My mom brought the cake, I have always loved sunflowers!

Of course I got some scrapbooking ribbons too! My mom got these for me! Now I know why she told me not to get any at Michaels the other day!!


After everyone left Joe was sad he didn't bring out my gift and could not wait till today! So he gave it to me! I love it!!! He did good!!!

We did it!

We finished the backyard! We will still need to take down the patio cover and put up a new one in a different spot but at another time. For now the yard is ready for our party!! Last night Joe thought he would not make it and was worried about leaving the sod sit for another day but it actually went in really fast. I was on watering duty today, 6am,11am and 2pm! Had to get up early to water!

It's been so long since I have seen green grass back there!! Love it!

We did a lot of cleaning up today, and putting things away! Feels so good to be done back there! Just have to do the front yard next. I got the tables all cleaned up and ready to go for the party! This is our new patio set that my parents got us for our birthdays and anniversary gift! Love it! Thanks mom and dad!

I even had some time earlier today to get a pedicure and do a lo! This lo is for Scrappers 4 life CG. We had to make a lo that could open to have something hidden underneath, if that makes sense. I had trouble with the underneath part. I didn't want to make the photo to small and because of the heart I had to angle the picture.



So lucky to have this guy in my life!

And one more lo I did earlier this week, for Carribean girl's Let's play with a twist challenge. You had to 3 three beach pictures and it had to include the name of the beach. These pictures were from our trip to Monterey.

Crunch time!

So there is one week till my 30th Birthday party! Gosh that is so hard to believe, I seriously still feel like I am 21! May not look it though! :( And our yard is still not done! We have dirt instead of grass!! It looks like we will only have time to finish the backyard, which is fine with me but I hope we can do it! My parents are coming over all day tomorrow and we will try to get what we can done to help Joe out!
Over the weekend Joe went away for my brother Eric's bachelor party. They went to Mammoth and went dirt bike riding and fishing. They had a great time and caught tons of fish, they said it was one after the other. My dad also went along and he sent me this great picture of most of the guys before they left for a ride.

While Joe was away I stayed at my mom's. We did lots of shopping and scrapping! She is working on a scrapbook to give my brother as a wedding gift. It will have lots of pictures from when he was younger. I also got one for my shower gift. It was great to look back at all the fun times we had as kids!

Happy Anniversary to us!

Last Saturday we left early in the morning for Lake Nacimento. It's about a 6 hour drive. We went with Joe's family. The weather was warm but not super HOT! ANd when we were on the boat it felt great!

We a lot of ralxing and even some fishing. I didn't fish much but Joe did a lot and even caught the most!

We got home on the 4th of July. We didn't do much, just cleaned up from the trip and relaxed.
Today is our 2nd wedding Anniversary! I can't believe how time flies, it seems like yesterday was our wedding day! I made Joe this cute little album, that I have had forever. He loved it! We don't have much planned for today, just going out to dinner!


Oh and a special thanks to my great friend Michelle L. who made this banner for me! Thanks again Michelle! I love it!

Happy Birthday to my Jojo!

Today is my husband's 27th birthday!! We already celebrated with his family this past weekend, so tonight I am making his two favorites, chicken parmasean and a crumb cake. And I told him he has to relax, no working on the house! He has been working outside every day for weeks now as soon as he gets home!

What a Day!

So it was a little crazy around here today! Here is why, but there was so much done today!!


I am in love with our patio!! Tomas talked us into doing a pattern on the new patio and I love it so much. I was a little hesitate at first but I am so glad Joe talked me into it!! My parents have the same pattern on their driveway and courtyard, also done by Tomas! Pictures to come of the patio, I couldn't get a good picture from inside the house.

Ok one more of Sonny, my brother and sister in laws dog! Love this dog, doesn't he look sad to leave! We love when he comes to visit! he makes me want a dog of my own!

Ok enough of that!! This week I did a lot of scrapping. I made about 5 cards and did another lo. I really like how it turned out!

Happy Monday!

It was a great Monday, my first one home for the summer! Yesterday I woke up early and went to my WW's meeting. I just weighed in, I lost 3 pounds over two weeks! I was so happy, and a little surprised since I ate out twice last week. So 13 pounds total! I went to try on bathing suits the other day and let me tell you I still wasn't happy with how I looked! I didn't end up getting one!

Yesterday we went to my brother's condo for a BBQ for Father's Day! We had a good some great carne asada and of course my banana pudding again. It was a hit again!

Today me and my sil met our husbands for lunch. They were working close to home and it was a nice little treat! When I got home I finally got to scrap a page! It seems like forever since I did one. I like how it turned out, I wasn't to sure about how I did the title. I really want to finish certain pictures this summer so I can put the extras away, my scrap area needs to be cleaned! So here is the lo, I really like the colors that I used! Thanks for reading my blog!

Not Yo' Mama's Banana Pudding

Well we celebrated Father's day tonight with my husband's family. His dad wanted to go to Elephant Bar so we all met there. We all ate too much but it was great! Everyone headed to our house afterwards to see the progress on our house. And I also made dessert. A friend at work made it for a shower and we all wanted the recipe. It's from the Food Network, and courtesy of Paula Deen. The name of it is Not Yo'Mama's Banana Pudding. It's soooo good!! Dh's grandma used the word refreshing!! It's super easy, maybe 15 minutes max to make!! You should all try it. There is one piece left, and I am going to make it again for my dad!


2 bags Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies
6 to 8 bananas, sliced (I only needed 4)
2 cups milk
1 (5-ounce) box instant French vanilla pudding
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12-ounce) container frozen whipped topping thawed, or equal amount sweetened whipped cream

Line the bottom of a 13 by 9 by 2-inch dish with 1 bag of cookies and layer bananas on top.
In a bowl, combine the milk and pudding mix and blend well using a handheld electric mixer. Using another bowl, combine the cream cheese and condensed milk together and mix until smooth. Fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture. Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding mixture and stir until well blended. Pour the mixture over the cookies and bananas and cover with the remaining cookies. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Ok so here is how the front yard looks as of yesterday when the blocks were delivered! There's even more on the other side of the driveway! And of course summer had to arrive today, those poor guys are dying out there! I ran to the store and got ice and drinks for the cooler for them! And of course dh is working about 2 hrs from home today!

Tomorrow is the last day of school!! I am thrilled!! The year has really gone by so fast! My room is not even packed yet! I will have to get there early tomorrow to work on it some more!!

What a mess!

We have been working on our house more to prepare for the workers who are coming tomorrow! But it's such a mess, good thing it's all outside!! So here are a few pictures. before we hauled the old concrete patio away and now with just dirt. We are also getting new block walls! Can't wait till it's all done and pretty!



I din't get any scrappin done this weekend! I did buy some of the new Elsie line! Can't wait to use it! I did finish my report cards late last night! So glad those are done! Only 4 days of school!! I am getting excited but so sad to say good bye on Thursday!! My class really was sweet this year! Well have a great week!

It's Monday again!!!

Well only one more Monday of work at least!! That's right only 8 days of school left and I can't wait!! It's going to be a busy 8 days but that's ok!
The hula turned out great last week!!! And the teacher we were honoring loved it!! They made a video of it to give to her! :) Thursday we went to my parents to have dinner with my cousin Joe and his family. They were visiting from Texas and he recently got back from Iraq. He was stationed at Camp Victory. He had some horrible pictures and stories to tell! We are grateful that he is home safely!!
This weekend we didn't do much of anything! Friday night I made two quick cards, I was too tired to do a lo. But Saturday I did one lo, it took me forever because my chipboard swirl was not turning out how I wanted it to but I finally settled and left it as is! That night we finally watched Pirates 2 so that we can go see the 3rd one in the theatres. Sunday we worked on the house and I did some report cards. Next week we are putting up new block walls and new planters so we have been getting things ready!


My cards are very simple and used with super old Michaels pp but I still think they turned out ok!

Happy Memorial Day!

We have had such a relaxing weekend! It has been nice! I did not do good with my diet though! :( It began Friday night when we went out to dinner with my bil and sil. Saturday they came over and we had dinner together again! My sil and I both did one page from our fishing trip last weekend! That is the lo I am sharing.


Yesterday we went to my parents to have dinner with them. Today we were going to make steaks but on our way home from checking out my brother's new condo we decided to have Chili's for dinner! Bad, bad, bad! I feel bad, and so I need to get back on track tomorrow!

So glad this week is short! We have a lot going on at school being that it's the end of the school year! Tomorrow is a super minimum day so that us teachers can do some work on our smart goals that we set for this last trimester. Wednesday I have a planning day and I will be working on report cards. That evening we have a retirement tea for our districts retiree's. Each school gets up and sings/dances. We are doing the hula! Should be funny!!! Then only 2 days till the weekend again!

Our fishing trip!

Last Thursday was my open house at school and it went very well. Lots of parents came! I did something new this year, we made a caterpillar with grass seeds. We used woman's knee high nude socks, filled them with soil that had grass seeds mixed in and let them grow. Then we glued on some eyes and such and this is what we ended up with. The parents and the kids loved them! Some of my students kept asking when they would turn into real butterflies!!

Friday morning at 1:45 am we left with my my husband's family and we headed to the mountains. It was way too early for me!! We made it to Rock Creek by breakfast time and met my parents and one brother. We fished the whole weekend. I caught 5 fish on my own!!! Joe caught a lot more! It was fun, very beautiful and relaxing!! Here are a few pictures from our weekend!

It's Monday!

The weekends always fly by so fast! On Saturay Michelle and I had a great time at our crop. I finished 5 los. I thought I would get more done but I really love all of them. We had a really good time and they fed us well, we had Baja Fresh for lunch, one of my fav's! Yesterday was a busy day starting with weighing in at our ww meeting. I lost another 2 pounds! Then I ran to the grocery store, Wal-mart, Sam's club and my classroom before heading to the in-laws. We had a great bbq lunch with tri tip, chicken and lots of salads. Can't forget the cake! Then we head to my parents for dinner, it was another round of bbq skewers and salads! And my mom made her famous srawberry pie, nothing like the store! It was all so yummy! Here are a few lo's!


This week is going to be busy with Open House on Thursday and then heading to the mountains on Friday for a weekend of fishing!
