Grilled Salmon Marinade

We use this recipe just about every time we eat Salmon. It's really good so I thought I would share it here.

1 lb. Salmon

Marinade
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup olive oil
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons chili sauce
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon dry mustard
1/2 tablespoon dry dill
1 1/2 tablespoon dry sherry
2 teaspoons lemon juice
2 cloves crushed gralic
Lemon pepper to taste

Put all the ingredients into a small pan, heat slowly while mixing it. Brush it on the salmon 1/2 hour before cooking and one time during grilling.

If you don't like the fishy taste of salmon just marinate it longer.
Grill on low heat and for about 15 minutes or so.
Enjoy!

Shaklee's Multivitamin

Do you take a multivitamin? If the answer is no then you should consider taking one. I hear the answer no followed by but I'm healthy! Take a look at some info on Shaklee's multivitamin! I switched to Shaklee's multivitamin just about a month into my pregnancy and I immediately felt better, my prenatal vitamins were making me feel sick. SO glad I found Shaklee at that time and decided to make the switch!!!

It is important for people to know a few things:
1. The American Medical Association recommends EVERY AMERICAN take a multi vitamin to supplement their diet.
(so does the American Council for Responsible Nutrition, and The American Cancer Society)

and 2. There is a difference between Shaklee's Multi vitamin and others on the market.

Shaklee's vitamins are made from organic whole fruits and vegetables, then cold pressed into a tablet so all the live enzymes stay in tact?(those live enzymes really help with people who have digestive issues).
Most companies start with synthetic vitamins, then heat treat them with binders, fillers, sugars and waxes to form them into a tablet.
Vita-Lea has never contained artificial sweeteners, colors, or flavors .

Shaklee has their own manufacturing facility and does tests on every batch of multivitamins to make sure the ingredients are free of pesticides, herbicides, funguscides, and heavy metals. Most companies order their vitamins from an outside manufacturer and then stick their Costco or Rite Aid labels on them. Without having their own manufacturing facility, they cannot control the quality of ingredients or purity of the finished product.

Not all multivitamins break down for absorption by the time they get through your stomach and into your colon. (some pass right through the system and out the "other end" completely in-tact because of the binders and fillers used.
Shaklee is guaranteed to break down and release the proper vitamins during the digestion process

Not to mention you will feel better and have more energy because the nutrients are from real plants and they actually break down & get absorbed.

Taken daily, Vita-Lea supports long-term colon, heart, and eye health, promotes strong bones and a healthy immune system, and provides protection against free radical damage.
A superior formulation compared to other leading multivitamins,
Vita-Lea provides 23 ultra pure vitamins & minerals from natural sources.

Please contact me if your interested in trying Shaklee's Multivitamin.

Breakfast idea recipes

These are two really good recipes that I got from my sister in law Danielle. Her mom made them for her bridal shower and both were hits!! I always share the recipe and thought it would be a better idea to share it here!

Here ya go!
Sausage Souffle

12 slices of bread (or little more if you need it) *white bread is best
1 lb grated Cheddar Cheese
8 Eggs
2 lbs link Sausage or chorizo
2 teaspoons Dry Mustard
4 cups Milk

Cut crust from bread and cube; cook sausage and cut in pieces. In a greased 9" x 13" in pan layer bread, grated cheese, and then sausage. Repeat layers until baking dish is full. Finish with a layer of bread, and cheese on top.

Mix eggs, milk, salt and mustard. Beat and pour over all. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake UNCOVERED at 350 for 1 hour.

*I have made it once and used chorizo in place of sausage. It's very good!!

Oven French Toast

French Bread (sliced in 1 inch thickness)
1 Cup Butter
1 1/2 Cups Milk
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
6 Eggs
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
Powder Sugar

In saucepan melt butter and brown sugar; pour in 9" x 13" pan. Place french bread on top of the brown sugar mixture. Mix together eggs milk, and vanilla; pour over french bread. Cover and refrigerate over night. Cook for 45 minutes at 350. Serve with powder sugar and syrup.

Serves 6

Shaklee Scour off!

I love cleaning with my Scour off! It works so well, it's safe and it smells great too! I use it in my shower to get the water spots off the glass door as well as cleaning all the tile and fixtures. I tried to get a picture today but the lighting in the bathroom isn't the best. In this picture the top is not cleaned yet and the bottom half I went over with scour off on a wet sponge once. I wiped it off with a wet rag and then dried it off.
(click on the picture to make it bigger)

Can you see the difference??

Here is a link to it on the Shaklee site.

Shaklee Get Clean Fresh Laundry

This last Friday my cousin Veronica got her first Shaklee order in the mail. I had been telling her about the great Shaklee products I use and she decided to try them herself. This morning she sent me this review without me asking her to do so! Her results are amazing! Look at those chairs and the shorts!!!

Here is what Veronica had to say:
These white chairs were a gift from my mother in law before we had three small children. Normally I clean the chairs with upholstery cleaner about once a month but I have to do outside because I don’t want my kids to breathe in the harsh fumes. Then, I have to leave the chairs outside to air so the cleaner smell evaporates from the fabric. It is totally inconvenient! This week was especially damaging to my chairs – orange popsicles, cranberry juice, purple crayons and my husband sat on one of the chairs after lying on the ground outside while working under the car. Fortunately for me, I got my Get Clean Laundry detergent this week! Here are the amazing results:
BEFORE:

Chair 1 Chair 2 Chair 3

I did a quick spot treatment with the Get Clean directly on the Popsicle, juice and grease stains:

Get Clean on ½ a Popsicle stain

Down the center of a purple crayon

On ½ a cranberry juice stain

Then I sprayed the entire area with my Shaklee Basic H2 All-purpose cleaner, let it sit about 5 minutes wiping with a clean cloth and VIOLA!!:

Chair 1 Chair 2 Chair 3

Keep in mind this was only the Get Clean Laundry detergent. I’m going to order the Nature Bright, Bleach alternative product today and see if I can’t get these chairs back to perfect! The best part for me wasn’t just that I got all the stains out really easily – but that there were NO fumes or harsh chemicals to worry about. I cleaned the chairs in my kitchen and didn’t worry about my kids being in the same room. Knowing that I can keep my home clean AND keep my family healthy is a wonderful feeling! And about those greasy, dirty, pants my husband work on the car in….well, see for yourself:

Before

During spot treatment

After a quick, cold wash cycle

*Thanks Veronica for this great review! I am so glad you tried the products and loved them!!!

Shaklee Basic H

This is one of my favorite products!

It can clean everything from my floors, walls, windows, mirrors, microwave, counters and even furniture!! I love that it has so many uses. It also comes in wipes which makes it easy to use even in your car!
It comes with three spray bottles in the Household Mini Kit, one for an all-purpose cleaner, a degreaser and a window spray. Each spray bottle uses just small amounts of the concentrate!
One bottle of Basic H2 equals the cleaning uses of 5,824 bottles of 26oz. of Windex! And this best part is that Basic H doesn't smell! Also it's safe to use around your children. Daniel loves to help me clean and with this product I feel good knowing that it is not harmful to him!
* Nontoxic
* Natural

Many uses for Basic H:

Window Cleaner – Mix - Only 1 to 3 drops in 16 oz. spray bottle of water. If smearing occurs, mixture too strong – add water to dilute.
General Spray Cleaner – Mix 4-6 drops in 16 oz spray bottle of water. Use all over the house to wipe furniture, chrome, the stove, the refrigerator, vent blinds, and excellent for louvered doors.
General Spot Remover – Apply Basic-H directly on spotted area. Use a toothbrush or finger to rub into area. Wipe off with a damp cloth or rinse in basin of water. (Removes coffee, ink, grass, etc)
General Cleaning – 1/2 tsp. in qt. of warm water. Cleans doors, walls, woodwork, appliances, bathroom fixtures & tile.
Insect Repellent for People and Animals – Rub/Apply full strength Basic-H wherever you do not want insects to bite; they won’t bite where Basic-H has been applied. Also relieves itching of insect bites (rub on, full strength). Be careful around eyes, it does sting. If you get some in the eyes just flush with water.
Floors - 1 Tbs. per gallon of water. Leaves floor shining. May require rinsing.
Dusting – 1/8 tsp. in pint of water, squeeze sponge almost dry (Or spray on), Wipe off dust, fingerprints, etc. Dry with clean cloth. Leaving the wax finish beautifully bright & dust repellent, less dusting required.
Outside Windows – 1/2 tsp. in “Ortho-type” spray applicator full of water. Makes 2 gallons of solution for windows & screens. Squeegee dry.
Coffee-makers – Dilute 1/8 tsp. Basic-H in pot of water. Run through cycle & coffee stains will rinse away.
Ironing - 1 drop in steam iron keeps the jets & interior clean.
Wallpaper - Excellent for removing wallpaper. 1/2 Tbs. per gal. of water. Soak wallpaper with sponge & peel or scrape.
Concrete & Mortar Mix – 1/4 oz. per 1 gallon of water. Makes cement & mortar spread easier & smoother, set harder.
Plumbing - Will keep pipes clean & free-running when used regularly to wash hands, pots & pans at sinks. It emulsifies grease & can eliminate cleaning of grease traps.
Pressure Washer – 1/2 oz Basic-H to 20 gallons of water.
Heavy Duty – use 1 oz per gallon of water. Leaves a luster to mobile homes, homes, RVs & etc.
Humidifiers – Use 1 or 2 drops in humidifier water to help prevent rust & scum.
Knives – 1 or 2 drops on cutting stone for sharpening knives. Keep moist & add Basic-H as needed. Doesn’t clog stone – very important when sharpening tools. Stone rinses free of residue.
Yard Spray to Rid of Fleas - in hose spray bottle, fill with water; add 1 cap-full of Basic-H. Attach to hose & spray yard every 10 days for 3 applications. Use twice a year thereafter to control. Rinse all plants thoroughly.
Liquid Hand Soap - Mix 1/4 Basic-H to 3/4 water in pump dispenser by sinks. Will not dry or irritate hands like soaps may. Will help moisten, soften & protect hands!
Fine Fabrics – Use 1/2 tsp to a basin of lukewarm water to wash woolens, nylon stockings, and all fine fabrics.
Gum – Use full strength to remove gum from skin, hair or carpeting.
Fruits & Vegetables – Use 1/8 tsp. in pint of water wash and rinse. Removes insecticide residue, dirt and waxes. For lettuce cut head in half and place in cold water with a couple drops of H. It removes the poisons and crisps up the lettuce.
Automotive Uses Washing- vehicle – 1/2 tsp. per gallon of water. Wash small area at a time and hose off. Wipe windshield, windows and chrome with paper towels after rinsing. You’ll love the shine!
Battery Terminals - 1/2 tsp. to pint of water and spray on battery terminals and let soak 2 minutes. Clean with wire brush.
Filters – 1 tsp to gallon of water. Soak air filters from motors and watch the dirt float out into the water. Air dry or put on hot engine for faster drying.
Camping Cleaning & Washing - Coat bottoms and sides of pots and pans with Basic-H before placing over campfire. Black soot just slides right off when you wash.
Fish Odors – 1/2 Tbs. per quart of water. Basic-H2 works wonders on boats, docks.
Washing RV, Boat & Camper – 1/2 Tbs. per gallon of water.
Crayon - To remove from walls, use full strength.
Spot Remover - Apply directly on spotted area, which has been dampened with water. Use a toothbrush or finger to rub basic-H2 into area. Wipe with a damp cloth or rinse in basin of water
Upholstery - Mix 1/2 Tbs. to ½ gallon water. Spray on & rub clean.
Septic Tanks – Keeps crust from forming. For maximum health of septic system use all of Shaklee’s phosphate free cleaning products. This will do much to promote the growth of needed friendly bacteria.
Houseplants – Water plants with 1 oz. Basic-H to 1 gallon water. 4 drops to 1 pint water can be sprayed on the leaves to make healthier plants and keep dust off.
Fertilizer - Add a few drops to warm water, then water your indoor or outdoor plants. The Basic H2 solution will make the ground soluble to the water, thus making your plants much healthier than with regular water.
Toothpaste - Add a drop or two to your toothbrush, right on top of your normal dab of toothpaste. Watch as your teeth become whiter and your gums healthier. Your breath may even stay fresh longer, as Basic H fights germs of all sorts.
Glove - Before you start a dirty job or before gardening, pour a few drops directly onto your hands. Rub them together to coat both hands. After you are done cleaning, wash your hands to find that dirt, scum, smell and overall ickiness are nowhere to be found.
Pesticide - Dilute your Basic H2 to a couple of drops per spray-bottle, then spritz your plants as part of your regular routine. Not only will the bugs stay away but you might also find that they are bigger and healthier, as well.
Produce wash – Just 1/8tsp. added to a pint of water will make an effective and safe wash for your produce. Grit and dirt on leafy vegetables are easily removed, and you no longer have to worry about a funny taste remaining on the produce.
Diaper wash - Coupled with 1/2 tsp of Shaklee Basic G (a germicide), 1/4 tsp of Basic H2 can remove germs and odors from your cloth diapers. Leave a bit in your diaper pail to prevent odors there, as well.
Windshield Wash/Rain repellent - Pour 3 1/2 tsp of Basic H2 into one quart of water, and use it as your windshield wash. Rain and slush will easily wipe away from your windshield, and bugs will slide away, as well.

I promise you won't be disappointed! If you are interested in trying Basic H please leave me a comment and I will be happy to send you a sample to try!

Enjoy your weekend!

Shaklee before and after pictures

I am seriously loving all my Shaklee products. I love that they are safe to use and good for our planet. I recently had a nasty stain in my sink and tried just Basic H but it wouldn't get it off. I decided to try Nature Bright. I normally use this as an alternative to bleach when washing whites. I love this product! So I mixed a small scoop with water and poured it in the sink and let it soak for about ten minutes! It did the job!

Here is my before (totally gross I know)
And now the after
Much better, right?? All I did was drain the water and wipe it dry! Amazing!

For the month of February Shaklee has continued their January offer. When you sign up for a membership and place a $70 (MN) order you will receive a Cinch sampler pack! Please let me know if you are interested! *this offer is now good through March!

Have a great Valentine's weekend!

Daddy's Little Helper

Hi there! I love using sketches when I scrapbook, in fact I almost always use them! I orginally picked a different sketch to use but as I was starting this page I changed my mind. This is the sketch that I used.

I have been wanting to scrap these pictures for a year now, I love them!! Daniel is always outside with his daddy and wants a screwdriver in his hand! I could not pick just one picture for this sketch so I used two! The black lettering is a little hard to see on the top of the picture but I didn't want to take it all off.
I was able to use lots of my stash for this lo. I bought this paper over a year ago at a Scrapbook store that no longer exists. Also I wanted to add stars but didn't have any but then remembered that I have a Slice!!! lol Sure enough one of my cards had a star! I really need to use it more often!!

It's not to late to play along, submit your lo's!

Taco Soup

I got this from work actually, a long time ago someone left copies out and I took one, it's our favorite! I have shared it with many people and they all have loved it.

1 lb. lean ground beef or turkey browned- I use turkey
1 onion (optional) - I just spinkle in some dried onion
1 pkg. taco seasoning -dry
1 pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch dressing - dry
1 can pinto beans
1 can light kidney beans
1 can corn
1 can hominy
2 cans tomotoes -diced
1 can rotel

Directions- dump all ingredients into crock pot. cook all day on low and enjoy. serve with chips and cheese. We make corn bread because it reminds me more of chili. It makes a lot, I have two crock pots and I use my bigger one for this. It lasts us a few days or you could even freeze some of it. Enjoy!!

Oct. and Pagerize Challenge

I wanted to do both of these challenges this month but have been so busy that I decided to combine them into one.

I decided to scrap these pictures of my son and my grandma who passed away in Dec.2008. She passed away just a few days before Christmas unexpectedly. She was only able to see my son twice. She was my last living grandparent to pass away. After she passed away I knew I wanted to scrap the only two pictures I had of her and my son. I printed extra copies but just couldn't get myself to scrap them, until now! Thank you Kathy for this challenge! I can look at these now and not get so sad about her being gone but be happy that she was able to hold him!!

I loved Joni's lo and lifted most of it. I haven't painted on a lo in a long time so I tried that but I felt like I made a mess. I covered most of it with my paper and pictures though! Thanks for the inspiration Joni!!

Please stop by Scrap Our Stash to play along in our challenges!!!

More baby Matthew pages

I never finished posting the baby book pages I made for my friend Holly's baby Matthew. Here are just some of them. She lives in Kansas so I had to ship it to her. When she sent me here thank you note she included these cute towel lollipops. I took a picture to remember them, they would be a cute shower favor!

I am having trouble figuring out blogger! I will post more soon!
